With one application, the free and open source SeaMonkey suite, Mozilla aims to meet all your internet needs. You see, this application bundles together the functionality you would expect to get from a web browser, email client, feed reader, IRC chat tool, and HTML editor. As a historical side note, it must be mentioned that SeaMonkey is the continuation of the now defunct Mozilla Application Suite.

As one would expect from Mozilla, SeaMonkey is available for multiple platforms and in a variety of languages. This means you can install the application on Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux in the local version of your choice. Focusing on the Windows setup, getting SeaMonkey up and running is a very straightforward matter: download an executable, run it, click through the setup wizard.

If you’re a Firefox user, you will immediately feel at home with the interface. And, as you’ve come to expect from Firefox, the application’s interface can be customized extensively: choose what elements show up, adjust the colors, use themes, use Personas, and more. Of course, the interface you see depends on the window you open: browser, mail & newsgroups, composer, address book, IRC chat.

As mentioned above, the SeaMonkey suite will meet all your internet needs. If you want to surf the web, visit your favorite websites, you can do that with SeaMonkey – you get pretty much the same functionality you would from the Firefox browser and I don’t need to tell you that Firefox is a very, very good browser. If you want to check your email and send out messages, you can also do it with SeaMonkey. If you want to chat and manage a list of addresses, you can also do that with SeaMonkey. To sum it up, you get a lot of powerful functionality and you get it for the great price of free.

SeaMonkey is simply a must have for any internaut. It is amazing!

Pros

SeaMonkey is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux in numerous localized versions. The interface is user friendly and it can be extensively customized. SeaMonkey is a powerful internet suite: web-browsing, advanced e-mail, newsgroup and feed client, IRC chatting, and HTML editing are put at your disposal. SeaMonkey is a free application.

Cons

None that I could think of.
